As a geoscientist I love the earth and Gaia the Greek goddess of Earth, mother of all life, as well as the Roman god Terra Mater (mother Earth) or the Andean Pachamama, the Hinu Prithvi (the Vast one) or the Hopi Kokyangwuti. The Earth mother is a beautiful concept and symbol in numerous early cultures. My Earth Totem is a wall installation,  part of the Elemental Series.   She is represented here by browns, greens, and blues layered into pattern bars and fused in this gorgeous tile.  Colored sheets are layered (stratigraphically), multiple stacks are placed in a confined area, heat and pressure are applied, the colored glass flows, and the pallet is created.
