This tall Octopus Tentacle is officially called an arm. Did you know that females have eight arms, divided into four pairs, while males only have seven, with an additional specialized appendage called a hectocotylus, a mating arm?  The suction cups on an octopus’ arms are called suckers.  If not appropriately chewed or if swallowed in haste, there is a risk of the suckers sticking to the inside of your throat and choking you to death.  As if octopuses weren’t scary enough.
